  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

For the burgers:

  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 pounds of ground beef
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • Toppings of your choice

  1. To make the sauce, use a small saucepan and mix together the ingredients listed. Let it come to a boil. Then, take it off the heat. Put 1 cup of barbecue sauce aside to serve with burgers later.
  2. In a big bowl, whisk together the egg, oats, 1/4 cup of leftover BBQ sauce, onion salt, garlic salt, and pepper. Then mix in the beef until it's crumbly. Roll out 6 patties from the mixture.
  3. Grill your burgers covered over medium heat, basting them with 1/2 cup of barbecue sauce during the last 5 minutes. Each side should take 6-8 minutes to cook through. Once they reach 160° on a thermometer, serve on buns with toppings of your choice and reserved barbecue sauce.
